In the rise of minimal invasive dentistry, Cari-Clast which is a single needle innovation, ready to
use, injectable paste used in chemo-mechanical caries removal system (CMCR). Cari-Clast is
breaking the boundaries not only by its painless non-invasive technique, but also ensures a quite
preservation of the sound dentine intact as well.
Composition:
Buffered sodium hypochlorite, Carboxyglycerin, Amino acids (Glutamic acid, Leucine and Lysine)
in a highly Alkaline PH.
Indication:
1- Cari-Clast is indicated for teeth diagnosed with Dentine caries.
2- Paediatric dentistry and uncooperative patients that can not stand the vibrations of the
hand-piece, nor the anxiety of drilling, Cari-Clast provide a comfortable environment to surpass
such challenges.
3- Deep caries (even if close to the pulp).
4- Open lesions (ex; root caries).
5- Inaccessible caries areas (ex; caries near to crown joints).
Mode of action:
Cari-Clast is an innovative method used in non-invasive caries removal system which is based on
chemical dissolution instead of drilling action, by softening demineralized carious dentine
(infected dentine) with preserving the partially demineralized sound layer (affected dentine)
intact and can be remineralized later.
Application:
Application:
1- Execute routine isolation.
2- Cari-Clast appliance directly to the lesion.
3- Give Cari-Clast 30 Seconds till the demineralization reaction is done.
4- Use a sharp hand instrument (Excavator) to excavate the bulk of the infected dentine.
5- Apply more Cari-Clast gel and continue the conservative treatment until the lesion is
completely caries free.
6- Regular probe evaluation for ensuring an intact sound dentine surfaces.
7- Now you have the dentine surfaces with a leathery appearance and an uneven topography
that increases the surface area available for receiving the restorative material with an extreme
retention.
Side effects:
Side effects are extremely rare including hypersensitivity
Storage / shelf life:
Always close the syringe immediately after use. It is recommended to withdraw the plunger
shortly after use and clean the nozzle of the syringe needle.
